Javonna Cayo

Owner Licensed Professional Counselor

Javonna Cayo is a Licensed Professional Counselor with nearly a decade of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families through their mental health journeys. She earned her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University, where she graduated with High Honors and membership in the Counseling Honors Society. Javonna also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in English from Central Connecticut State University.

As a Clinical Program Manager at Rushford’s Child and Adolescent Ambulatory Services, Javonna leads a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care. She specializes in helping clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and family dynamics, with a focus on building resilience and fostering emotional growth.

Her clinical background includes extensive experience in crisis intervention, family therapy, parenting support, and program development. Javonna believes in creating a safe, collaborative, and empowering space where clients can explore their experiences and develop tools for lasting change.

With a leadership style rooted in empathy and advocacy, Javonna is deeply committed to improving access to quality mental health care and supporting both her clients and fellow clinicians in achieving their goals.


Sonia Oxendine

Co-Owner Masters of Social Work, Licensed Master Social Worker

Sonia Oxendine is a graduate of Springfield College in Massachusetts, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services. She also holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Fordham University in New York. With over 30 years of experience in the field of social work, Sonia is a dedicated and compassionate clinician specializing in mental health support and therapeutic services for individuals, couples, those with dual diagnoses, and families. Throughout her career, she has worked in diverse settings, including community mental health agencies, hospitals, and private practice.

As a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Sonia has extensive expertise in helping clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, grief, and life transitions. Her approach integrates evidence-based practices with a deep respect for each client’s unique story, fostering a safe and collaborative environment for growth and healing.

In her private practice, Sonia offers personalized counseling services designed to empower clients to build resilience, improve communication, and strengthen emotional well-being. She is skilled in couples and family therapy, helping partners and families reconnect and resolve conflicts with empathy and clarity.

Hello! I am Maggie Smith, practicing in both Connecticut and Massachusetts, who has experience working across the lifespan with a primary focus on child, adolescent, and early adulthood.  I have experience working with individuals, groups, and families utilizing an array of evidence-based interventions, including CBT, ACT, DBT, TF-CBT, SFBT, and trauma-informed care. My aim in treatment is to create a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment to help you identify and reach your goals!

Sofia Flamengo Riddick

Sofia Flamengo Riddick is a Licensed Master Social Worker who has worked in the mental health field since 2009. Sofia has worked in various settings, including adolescent residential, in-home services utilizing the Multisystemic Therapy model, adolescent outpatient, and educational settings. Sofia has experience working with at-risk youth and youth involved in the juvenile justice system. Sofia has years of experience working with youth who are school-avoidant and struggle with truancy. She has experience working with individuals who suffer from ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Sofia uses a strength-based, solution-focused approach with her clients. Sofia believes in the importance of offering a kind, warm and welcoming approach with her clients. She works on empowering individuals to find "their voice" and meet the goals they would like to accomplish in a manner and pace they are comfortable with. Sofia speaks English & Portuguese and will only be providing Virtual Counseling sessions.

Emperatriz Mayi Castillo

I am an LPC with several years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults of diverse backgrounds. I have experience working with individuals who have anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, substance abuse among other diagnosis. I have a person-centered approach as I believe the client is best to decide what to explore and how. My goal is to provide an environment in which the client feels safe and supported.

In my past clinical roles, I have worked as an IICAPS clinician as well as provided grouptherapy for individuals who struggle with substance abuse. I am fluent in Spanish.

Natasha Vega

I am a bilingual (Spanish-speaking) therapist with over 15 years of experience providing compassionate, effective support to children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. My clinical work spans multiple levels of mental and behavioral health care—including in-home services, school-based clinics, hospital settings, and outpatient treatment—which allows me to meet clients wherever they are in their journey.

I utilize evidence-based treatment modalities such as CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to help clients navigate life transitions, stress, relationship challenges, trauma, ADHD, grief, anxiety, and depression.

My approach is client-centered, inclusive, and deeply collaborative. I strive to create a safe, culturally responsive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. I remain present, open-minded, and actively engaged so that each individual feels supported every step of the way.
